How to make a grooming turn-table for around $7

Another thing that I don't want to buy 'cause I know I can save money by making it myself.  Thanks to Jennifer Hernandez of Hare We Go Again rabbitry who, while I admired her table at a show, told me how she made it.  I would have never guessed she hadn't bought it from a catalog.

Materials needed:

-Lazy Susan, finished wood (IKEA)

-Scrap of short pile, rubber-backed carpet or old door mat

-Black marking pen

-Heavy duty scissors or box cutter (for parent use only)

-Self-stick Velcro strips (hook side only)

Lay your carpet piece upside-down and put your lazy susan upside-down on top of that.  Using your marking pen, trace the outline of the lazy susan top onto the back of your carpet scrap.

Set the lazy susan aside and cut out the circle that you just drew onto the back of your carpet.

Place self-stick Velcro hook strips on the Lazy Susan top.  Set the mat fuzzy side down to stick it securely for a rubber grip tabletop that can be changed if desired.  You're done!

Tips:

-IKEA's lazy susan is only $7 (kitchenware area).

-I bought my carpet at IKEA for 99¢ but you could use just about any old door mat.

-Go through your garage before you go out to buy anything.  I have double bought many things just because I didn't bother to look to see if I had some stored away.

-When cutting the carpet circle, cut just inside of the marked circle on your capet so that you don't have anything hanging over the edges of the table.

Turn-table pros:

-The price!  Around $7!  Can't beat it!

-The quality.  The lazy susan is put together professionally at the factory.   It is a nice, finished, blonde wood.  It has a rubber, no-slip grip on the bottom.

-The ease.  Like I said, it's put together at the factory for you.  All you have to do is cut and stick the top on.  How easy it that?!

Turn-table cons:

-Your daughter may think it is a bunny-go-round, take your rabbits for a spin and get them dizzy when you have your back turned. lol.  Good story, Jennifer.

-Can't think of any others.
